When the Umaid Bhawan Palace was built from1928 to 1943 in Jodhpur, India, it was meant to be a private residence (one of the largest in the world) for the Maharaja Umaid Singh. No one would have thought that the palace would be used partially as a hotel nearly 100 years down the line. Not only is a part of the place now in the hands of the Taj Group hotels, but it is also Trip Advisor’s 2016 winner for world’s best hotel in the Travelers’ Choice category.
The palace sits dainty on 26 acres of green, well-kept gardens. It has 64 bookable hotel suites and rooms in the Art Deco-inspired palace. While there are actually more than 350 rooms, a majority of them are reserved for the Maharaja’s use. There are several restaurants and a bakery for those whose stay is based on the food a place can deliver.

Consumer Reports named the truly beautiful Samsung Galaxy S7 the very best smartphone it has reviewed, this far. The S7 Edge is the 2nd in the list. Both devices possess extremely high resolution screens, super-fast processors, great cameras and of course, fantastic battery life. The water-resistance and expandable storage were also crucial in helping the devices win top ratings, especially because it was the smaller details that made other, more conspicuous features, stand out. For example, both devices can take videos in 4K and Ultra-HD. The size of files in those formats is huge, which makes having expandable storage in the form of a micro SD card that much more important.

The winners of 2015’s award were recently announced as Singapore’s Changi Airport and South Korea’s Incheon Airport who tied at first place.
